City of Ottawa Status: Completed August, 2012 Consultant: Conestoga Rovers & AssociatesThe project scope of work consisted of construction of an effluent storage pond for Leachate treatment at an Ottawa land site including, supply and installation of geogrid and HDPE liner and retrofit of pump and piping to existing on-site lift station; concrete construction of spill containment pad and truck filling station, with supply and installation of operator control panel and associated electrical works; supply and installation of electrical container building, consisting of two aeration blowers with combination starters, electrical transformer, service panel, lighting, and heating; as well as additional supply and installation of floating decant pump for aeration pond, effluent pump, sump pump, pump control panels, enclosures, alarms and associated electrical works. Site works, including heavy excavation, with supply and installation of culverts, force mains, gravity piping, manholes, catch basin and valves, as well as, demolition and removal, and roadway and entrance improvements were completed. Extensive civil work was performed on this project, while maintaining the existing operation of the plant and all civil, mechanical, and electrical work was self-performed.
