
Seaway Wastewater Treatment Plant Influent Channel Upgrade

The Regional Municipality of Niagara Status: In Progress Consultant: Associated Engineer Ltd.Consist of the construction of a new elevated influent channel at the Seaway WWTP north of the Blower Building to connect to the existing channel. Municipal, Industrial, and In-Plant forcemains will be extended underground and rise aboveground to tie into the new channel. The abandoned aerated grit tank, existing influent channel on the second floor of the Blower Building (interior and exterior), and process piping that will no longer be used will be demolished. The existing abandoned DN900 storm tank bypass will be decommissioned.
Generally, without limiting the scope of the Contract, the Works under this Contract include:1. Construction of a new elevated influent channel to tie into the existing channel.| 2. Extension of municipal, industrial, and in-plant forcemains to tie into the new channel. | 3. Demolition of the abandoned aerated grit tank, existing influent channel on the second floor of the Blower Building (interior and exterior), and process piping. | 4. Decommissioning of the existing abandoned DN900 storm tank bypass by demolishing a section up to 5 meters away from the point of new channel construction and filling with grout. | 5. Replacement of guardrails and grating except for those at the bypass location. | 6. All temporary works related to Phase 1 construction bypassing (maintaining the DN300 Return Sewage, DN150 Hauled Waste # 1, and DN150 Hauled Waste # 2 forcemains in service while new channel foundations are being installed). | 7. All temporary works related to Phase 2 construction bypassing (maintaining the DN500 Elm, DN500 Eastside, DN350 Union, DN350 Omer, DN300 Return Sewage, DN350 Industrial Park, DN350 Future Industrial, DN150 Hauled Waste # 1, DN150 Hauled Waste # 2, Digester Supernatant Sump Line, Septic Sewage Sump Line).
