Upgrades to the 4th Ave Reservoir included the removal and replacement of 750mm valving, piping and restraints which supplied a 100m diameter reservoir with potable water. To undertake the project retrofits, a 1050mm thick concrete reservoir wall was demolished at the location of the existing piping to allow for the installation of cast in place epoxy coated piping, complete with a new valve and Rotork actuator. Once disinfection, testing and installation were complete, KCL installed structurally reinforced concrete to the reservoir wall opening to repair the opening and to prevent water migration into the metering vault. In completing the upgrades, KCL commissioned the new valve and Rotork for handover to the City of Regina.
