The Regional Municipality of York Status: Completed 2014 Consultant: Cole Engineering Group LimitedThe project scope of work consists of cast-in-place concrete construction addition to the existing building to facilitate a new 900 kW emergency standby diesel generator system; supply and installation of four 250 HP Gormann Rupp pumps to replace existing pumps, with associated piping, valves, and gauges; complete electrical upgrade, consisting of the supply and installation of new transformers and primary feed cable, new 120 VAC and 600 VAC service panels, new MCC in relocated area, VFDs, disconnects, instrumentation and controls; supply and installation of SCADA PLC panel, with complete systems programming and commissioning services; and supply and installation of HVAC, lighting, access control and security system, and all associated electrical power and control cable distribution. Work was performed while maintaining the operation of the pumping station, in preparation of phasing in new pumps for full conversion. Site works included excavation, installation of concrete caisson foundation, trenching, duct works, backfilling, and restoration and landscaping. All civil, mechanical, and electrical work was self-performed.
