Regional Municipality of Niagara Status: In Progress Consultant: Cole Engineering Group LimitedThe project scope of work consisted of extensive demolition to remove existing roofing and cast-in-place concrete slabs suspended over sedimentation tanks 1 and 2, and replacement with new 2,400 m2 cast-in-place concrete slabs designed to support new building structures above, while maintaining plant operation. We completed extensive concrete restoration and coating to the remaining tank walls below, including installation of concrete corbelling, and haunches; and new structure over sedimentation tanks, including masonry cavity walls, with concrete encased steel beams and columns, hollow core roof slab, and over-framed metal roofing and cladding system.
We provided new HVAC systems, lighting, security systems, and associated electrical power/controls wire and cable distribution; testing for water and gas tightness, where applicable, on existing and new water retaining structures and systems, and site works that included installation of helical piles, excavating, dewatering excavations, backfilling, compaction, fencing, and disposal of surplus excavated materials. All civil, mechanical, and electrical work was self-performed.
