The Buffalo Pound water treatment facility is an existing water treatment facility located in Buffalo Pound, Saskatchewan that supplies drinking water to the residents of Regina and Moosejaw. KCL was contracted to construct an expansion to the existing facility which houses new UV Disinfection equipment, as well as modifications to the existing mechanical and electrical processes. ‎Project was completed in March 2017. The new UV expansion portion of the work commenced in September 2015 with elaborate excavation and concrete foundations. This was followed by the installation of 1650mm & 1200mm piping, two ‎UV reactors, actuated valves/slide gates, a screw pump and new electrical distribution equipment. Structural & mechanical modifications was also made to the ‎existing Pump Well and GAC's where significant plant shutdowns was needed to undertake retrofits to allow for flow diversion.
